"The Guardian" : Donald Trump keeps China on hold with letter but no phone call for Xi Jinping

China specialists believe the US billionaire president and Xi, a member of China's so-called red nobility, are unlikely to hit it off. Trump also wished the Chinese people a happy Year of the Rooster, although those tidings came almost a fortnight late. But that's exactly what they are."Trump's letter to Xi follows a "congratulatory note" sent by the Chinese president to his US counterpart on the day of his 20 January inauguration. Donald Trump has reportedly yelled down the telephone at Australia's prime minister and veered off into rants about China and Nato with French leader François Hollande. Shi said Trump's policy on China was still unclear but "all the signs so far point to a combative approach".

Jake Tapper Really Doesn't Care If Donald Trump Hates Him
CNN's Jake Tapper doesn't seem to care that President Donald Trump actively dislikes his network. And the news anchor doesn't think anyone else at CNN has a problem with it, either. In an interview with "Late Show" host Stephen Colbert Wednesday, Tapper talked about CNN's contentious relationship with the White House. Last week, Politico reported the Trump administration was "icing out" the network by refusing to send officials and spokespersons for interviews. The journalist said he didn't think former President Barack Obama was a particular fan of his, either.

"I'm not going to enter into a discussion over whether his actions are right or wrong," Puglia told local Italian media. But President Donald Trump has been in office less than three weeks and already plans are being drawn up for a statue to memorialize the United States' 45th president. The mayor of Vagli di Sotto, Mario Puglia, plans to construct a big, marble statue of the sitting U.S. president in the village's Park of Honor and Dishonor. The statue will be in a tiny village in central Italy. Puglia added that while he would be honored if Trump made a trip to see the statue, he doubts the U.S. leader will have the time.
