The US president is in Asia, where one country dominates talks: North Korea. The US president kicked off a long tour of Asia, with a clear message: "Do not underestimate America". Trump will discuss trade deals with various leaders, but tensions with North Korea will likely overtake the agenda during his 12-day trip. He will go next to South Korea, China, Vietnam and the Philippines. His predecessor Barack Obama also spent a lot of time in the region, as part of his so-called "pivot" to Asia.
Donald Trump meets Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen sensation Pikotaro
In a lighter turn to United States President Donald Trump's visit to Japan, the 71-year-old met Japanese Internet sensation Pikotaro, known for his "pen-pineapple-apple-pen" tune that went viral last year. The 44-year-old Japanese comedian, whose real name is Kazuhito Kosaka, posted photos with Mr Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on his official Facebook page on Monday (Nov 6) night. "President Trump and Prime Minister Abe ," he wrote. Japan is the first in Mr Trump's list of countries to visit on his tour of Asia. On his first day in the land of the rising sun, Mr Trump fed koi with Mr Abe, played a round of golf and gave a speech to US service personnel at the Yokota Air Base.
On Last Week Tonight, John Oliver asks, "Is Donald Trump smart enough to be evil?"
as mentioned in To be fair, it's not like Trump laid the groundwork for the "incompetent dingbat" defense already. That despite a clip of Trump bragging of his mental acumen, "It's called up here, and it's called memory, and it's called other things." Well said. As Oliver put it, coming from that guy, a defense amounting to, "I don't know anything about those people I should know everything about," seems almost plausible. The big question, Oliver said, "Did Trump know all of this and not care? And White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders scoffed that Trump has thousands of photos of himself taken with millions of people. Which gave Oliver a too-good-to-resist cheap-shot chance to show photos of Trump with OJ Simpson and with Harvey Weinstein. Because the counter-argument is that Trump is a meticulous man who makes strategic decisions, fully aware of the consequences of his actions. Still, Oliver urged America not to accept the Trump Card.
