open_word} Donald Trump will touch down in Vietnam on Friday, following a flurry of diplomatic trips across Asia including Japan, South Korea and China and the Philippines. As with any foreign dignitary visiting a state, there are a number of things the US President should avoid doing to ensure the trip goes well. Trump should instead gesture towards people using his entire hand facing down if he really has to, although this can also be misconstrued. Don't pat anyone on the back or touch their headPatting people on the back is considered disrespectful. The head is the most symbolic part of the body, so touching someone's head or shoulders is quite invasive.

One year on, Donald Trump is still an illegitimate president

The 2016 US presidential election was so corrupted in so many ways, small and large, that there is no reason to respect its outcome or regard Donald J Trump as the legitimate president of the United States. In South Korea in late 2016, popular uprisings and parliamentary impeachment proceedings forced the corrupt president out of office. It is unlikely that it will be overturned, but that is not an argument against the case that it should be. You don't have to factor in the Russian intervention or the Trump team's collusion to regard the election as fatally corrupted. You just have to like free and fair elections and the right of the people to determine who governs them.
